Using Blogger To Make Money

I danced my way back to Blogger a few days back. The reason was I joined the Pepperjam Network recently and I wanted some sites to push the products. I have been refraining from joining Pepperjam as I did not have much luck with other Affiliate sites like Commission Junction or NeverBlueAds. Most of the programs I applied for in CJ gets rejected and NeverBlueAds has nothing for International Affiliates. However, due to the fact that eBay has joined PepperJam and BANs has updated their script to work with Pepperjam, I thought I would give it a shot just to see if I can get into the eBay Partner program through them as Marketers from this region never gets their application through if they apply directly at eBay’s Partner Network. My application is still pending but along the way I thought what the hell, I am already with Pepperjam so I might as well make full use of the Affiliate programs there.
The surprising thing is almost every program I applied, unlike CJ, got through. Thus I was stuck with a bunch of Affiliate programs that needed to be promoted. I had thought about using Blinkweb, but they only allow 5 pages, which is just fine if you intend to sell a single product or as a landing page for your other Affiliate stores, but I felt it was not suitable if we want to sell the products that Pepperjam Advertisers promotes.
Lots of people gets the wrong notion of using Affiliate programs like Pepperjam. What they normally do is to get the programs they like and the most they do is to insert a banner or two into their personal rant blogs hoping they will make some money. You must understand that these Affiliate programs are NOT Pay Per Click like Adsense. You have to actually sell something before you can see the commissions. It’s Pay Per Action. So inserting a beautiful banner into your blog is never going to make you money nor will those numerous text links that appears very “money making”
The proper way to do Affiliate Products is to have a dedicated site related to what your product is about. Like niche blogging where you want to attract relevant and targeted readers for your Adsense clicks, these sites should be targeted to people interested or are shopping for such products. If you are trying to sell Pots and Pans, do make a blog about Pots And Pans. Write articles about where to get the best Pots and Pans, so your visitors will be those looking for info about where to get he cheapest pots and pans. Only then do you insert those Pots And Pans banners, text links or whatever that your Affiliate Program allows. My buddy Grizz will also tell you to make that blog as boring and as ugly as possible because we want them to click on those banners quickly and get to the actual stores before they change their minds about buying.
I could have bought another string of domains just to do Pepperjam, but decided it would be more feasible if I used the the free Blogger platform instead. I figured it would be better for me to keep those dedicated domains for my online stores instead as I still do not have solid prove how products from Pepperjam will convert. I’ll see how it goes and keep you guys informed. If it works well to make me a dollar a day from each of the Blogger sites, I’ll consider it a success. Meanwhile pray that my application for the eBay program goes through. Have anyone in countries that were rejected by eBay Partner Network tried applying via Pepperjam?

Good luck Costa, hope you will get through. Living in South Korea, I was instantly rejected several times as well. I changed my country to France in the application form (I am French) and was accepted right away.

Thanks Fuerza.
I still wonder about the criteria eBay uses when approving their applications.

Hi, Costa,
The main reason that I signed up PepperjamNetwork is that they pay via PayPal. I can’t stand being paid by check….;D
How nice if PJ has datafeed stuff like ShareASale! I will surely go all out to promote PJ if they have datafeed.
How I wish ShareASale pays via PayPal too!

Too bad NeverblueAds doesn’t work for you being international. It rocks for me and they pay right on time. I love them. I signed up for Pepperjam but haven’t tried anything yet.

Hi, Costa,
I was thinking if I should use Blogspot these few days. You know lah…people say you must use own domains… Google sapu Blogspot blogs…
At last, I decided to build a few blogs using Blogspot…;D
Firstly, I don’t feel like buying new or expired domains. Well, actually.. ..no money …;p
Secondly, I think it should be ok with Google gua as long as I write my own contents.
Thirdly, I don’t know if the niche work or not. If they work, then only I buy domains and set up stores lor.
